German 'A Capella Metal Band' VAN CANTO Covers IRON MAIDEN's 'The Trooper'; Video Available
July 4, 2008Fan-filmed video footage of the German "a cappella metal" band VAN CANTO — which consists of five singers and one drummer (no guitars, no bass, no keyboards) — performing a cover of the IRON MAIDEN classic "The Trooper" on June 28, 2008 at Inferno in São Paulo, Brazil can be viewed below.
VAN CANTO's debut album, "A Storm To Come", was released in 2006 through General Schallplatten and re-released last year through GUN Records. It features seven original tracks as well as cover versions of METALLICA's "Battery" and "Stora Rövardansen" from the movie "Ronja Rövardotter".
The band has been confirmed for this year's installment of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 31 - August 2, 2008 in Wacken, Germany.
